Journey of Generosity
Presented by Generous Giving

A Journey of Generosity is a small group event designed to facilitate deeper discussion around the transformational topic of generosity. Why: This experience is designed to focus on your heart and not your money. We never ask for money or let anyone else ask you for money, ever. We know your journey is unique and we never prescribe what you should give to or how much you should give.

Where: This Journey of Generosity will take place at the Omni Orlando ChampionsGate hotel prior to the start of the Annual Conference.

What: At every Journey of Generosity a trained facilitator brings short videos, scriptures, and stories for the group to enjoy and discuss together. The facilitator doesn't lecture or bring answers. We believe that the message of generosity comes to life when there is informal and genuine conversation.

Attending a Journey of Generosity is being added as a requirement for the Certified Kingdom Advisor® designation. Certified Kingdom Advisor® designees will have 2 years to attend a JOG to meet this requirement. Get a head start on this new requirement by attending a JOG prior to the start of the Annual Conference.

Register for the Journey of Generosity when you register for the conference. The price is $169 per person. (Meals noted in the schedule are covered.)

About Generous Giving

Founded in 2000 by The Maclellan Foundation, Generous Giving's mission is to spread the biblical message of generosity in order to grow generous givers among those entrusted with much. These conversations consistently allow us and our friends to discover joy in ways we didn't expect. Our commitment is to provide safe, solicitation-free environments. We never seek donations, permit solicitation at our events, or award grants. Visit generousgiving.org for further information.

The Attorney Track is designed primarily for Christian Attorneys, but financial advisors are welcome to attend the sessions.

No separate conference registration is required to attend these sessions.

Schedule

Wednesday (2/15) 4:00pm Attorney Community Group Meeting
Led by Joe Mitchiner, but in open floor format, the focus of this meeting will be to share the value proposition for group membership, to review group leadership, and to discuss unique needs of attorneys within KA, including how KA attorneys can best serve KA advisors.

Thursday (2/16) 8:30am Session One: Practice Development for Christian Attorneys
The goal of this session is to learn the art of “issue spotting” in general and, then, specifically apply this art to identify charitable intent, along with financial and tax solutions. When we focus on the uniqueness of our clients, it helps us to identify problems and challenges, followed by solutions. The session is led by James Collins and Randall Borkus.
* Approved by The Florida Bar for 1 hour of General CLE Credit for attorneys.

Thursday (2/16) 9:45am Session Two: The IRA Inheritance Trust
What is the IRA Inheritance Trust (IRAIT)? Why is the IRAIT necessary? How do we position IRAIT value and solutions that benefit clients? We will dig deep into the details of asset protection, estate planning, and “final tithe” planning relative to IRAs. This session is led by James Collins and Randall Borkus.
* Approved by The Florida Bar for 1 hour of General CLE Credit for attorneys.

Friday (2/17) 9:00am Session Three: Applications and Uses of Life Insurance in Estate Planning
There are many valid applications of life insurance in the estate planning world beyond a traditional ILIT or buy sell solutions. The attorney who truly understands the applications of life insurance is in the best position to support the financial advisor when using life insurance for an estate planning client. This session is led by Randall Borkus and James Collins.
* Approved by The Florida Bar for 1 hour of General CLE Credit for attorneys.

Friday (2/17) 10:15am Session Four: Collaboration Best Practices for Financial Advisors and Attorneys
(Offered as a Breakout Session for Financial Advisors and Attorneys)

Randall Borkus, James Collins, Laura Noble, and Thomas Whitaker will focus on ways that financial advisors and attorneys discuss their client processes and creation of a collaborative approach that supports each other’s business model for the benefit of the client.
* Approved by The Florida Bar for 1 hour of General CLE Credit for attorneys.
